I have a lot of milkweed in my gardens, this year. Today is the first day they've bloomed, and I already have my first visitor. I'm hoping there will be many more, in the next few days.

Lots of swallowtails around, but no monarchs yet here in northern Michigan.

(26,125 posts)2. The hard winter killed my Butterfly Bush, which always attracted Monarchs
I started with 2 milkweed plants, about 5 years ago. Now they are spreading like crazy. They do have the most beautiful blooms.
