He likened the Cochran/McDaniel run-off to the Eisenhower/Taft fight (the Great Betrayal) that didn't lead to a gop split ... a third party challenge in the general election.
But I don't think the times, or the players, are the same ... I fully expect McDaniel, if he can't challenge the results, will mount a 3rd-Party run. And I fully expect that the tea-party folks (beck, red-states, etc.) to encourage and fully support such a move.
But what do I know?

But, if that's the case, let's not underestimate ( read: encourage) a write-in campaign ... it worked in Alaska(?), in the 2012 cycle.

But that said ...
Fischer ... I know you got a sad going on; but pause for a minute and ask yourself two questions:
1) Why are ballots secret?
2) Since their secret, how are you going to prove who voted for Cochran as opposed to McDaniel? Are you admitting that you know that McDaniel has nothing to offer Black folks?
Or better yet ... SHHHHH!

(15,429 posts)The law exists, BTW, from the days of Jim Crow to insure African Americans would never be able to appear on the ballot.

(3,580 posts)they're breaking the law when they vote.
I think it was a pretty smart move. Black voters have spoken, they will vote in 14 in Ms. Anyone running for office there better take notice.
