"Where were you motherfuckers back in 2003?"

The Rude Pundit asked in his latest post. Indeed, where were WE? By we, I mean me and any others that did not protest too much, did not protest too vocally, did not demonstrate, did not say "NO" enough. Where where our marches in the street? Say what you want of the Vietnam era, but the youth were there burning their draft cards, the marches in the street, the shouts of , "Hey,Hey LBJ-how many kids did you kill today."

I am suffering a bit of remorse, too liberal I guess , that I didn't write my rep and give my opinion that this war is wrong. I knew it was wrong and asked myself ,"why in the hell Iraq?" and had a now founded feeling it was wrong and GW Jr. was acting out some parental issues.

Collective guilt. Fuck the Rep's that they manipulated a nation except for a few voices which they silenced in their thought controlled media. Damn them , damn their collective voice, damn their ability to hammer down any nails that popped up to question them.

Kudos to The Dixie Chicks you had more balls than I did. And come to think of it, bravo to Jane Fonda for her anti-war stand .

The Media generally treated anti-war protesters and people who spoke out as crazy and irrelevant.

Could I have done more?

Well, sure, there's always more to be done.

But, I wasn't silent, and I did all I could think of to do at the time.

So, I don't really suffer guilt as much as I do anger and frustration and grief.

There's nothing anyone could've done to stop it.

They've got weapons, but the inspectors say otherwise, fuck em, pull them out of the country.
They were behind 9/11, except they weren't, fuck em, we've got to freedom their asses.
They'll thank us for the war in their front yard....

Nothing else mattered. Bush told his biographer back in 99 that he was going to war to show how powerful he was and to one-up his dad.

While people discuss the Vietnam era protests, those had glacially paced impact on moving the policy.

Folks here show the pictures from 2003 and all those protestors and their concerns were out there. But, it didn't matter a whit.

The MIC does what the MIC wants.

that spring.

Six months before, in the fall, I harrassed my then-senator, calling the office on at least three occasions, not to vote for the Iraq War Resolution. Didn't work.

Also the fall before, I also had a discussion with my then Congressman, Ed Markey, who had come to our town green for some reason or another to make a speech (I think it was for the gubernatorial race that fall). He was booed. He looked so sad afterward, I went over to him and said, "That was hard, but you have to understand how angry people are about that IWR vote. You really, really need to know how people feel about it."

Of course it didn't really make the news in the US, but I gave an interview on AlJezeria. I marched in DC and in SF and wrote and called and begged and screamed; but it made no difference, so don't feel too guilty; you would have been ignored too.

My remorse was that I didn't hop on a plane and go to Miami when they were stopping the vote count. What I could have done I have no idea; but I still feel guilty that I wasn't there.

anyone suggesting otherwise is a revisionist LIAR.
what hasnt happened is the FCC hasnt been attacked for the cowardly lies and misreporting of the American media.
NOT ONE IOTA OF THIS BOTTOMLESS PIT DISASTER FALLS ON THE AMERICAN CITIZEN.
unfortunately, theres a slight problem with both parties supporting mass murder and global terrorism.
until that slight issue gets addressed,
all the rest is masturbation.
