Did a story on lobbying, and its effects (or lack thereof) last week.

Very interesting.

To paraphrase Barney Frank "I don't care who gives me what money, the voters are who matter."

Voters of all stripes need to vote for the person most likely to help get money out of politics - publicly funded campaigns, corporations are not persons, all political ad buyers must be identified immediately (in the ad), voter's rights guaranteed, lobbying done only in open hearings.

These five greedy pieces of shit have caused far more death, destruction, and looting than any terrorist cell in the entire world could ever dream of - all in the name of getting richer. What do they plan to do with all that money - start their own space program???

And I still stand by my claim that Citizens United was not the worst Supreme Court decision ever - that belongs to Bush V. Gore. This world would be a very different place had Gore actually won the election instead of the shit storm it is thanks to the BFEE's 8 year reign of terror.

For example, one law, Sarbanes Oxley tripled the income of Deloitte, E&Y, PWC and KPMG.

Write a law, pay the money and get the law change you want.

You know why the government "can't force you to buy broccoli"? Because the broccoli farmers haven't yet paid to have a law requiring you to buy broccoli.

And, since congress has exempted themselves from insider trading laws, you might not even have to pay them off. They can play the market (the way casinos play blackjack) and make their cut there. Heck, the SCOTUS knows their own ruling in Obamacare and they have 3 months to play the market with that info.

Unlimited Lobbying and Campaign Donations. So you can bet that our tax dollars are subsidizing Romney's, Santorum's, and Newt's campaigns. Maybe even Obama's campaign? Any federally subsidized corporation should not be allowed to lobby or donate to election campaigns. Period. Why isn't this illegal?

I mean, after my civics teacher explained to me that you can contribute to and lobby politicians, I just couldn't distiguish it from bribery. Now, 40 years and one law degree later, I still can't see how it's different from bribery. I guess I'm a slow learner.
