whole body donation...

I look like my mother and that has always been a thorn in my side... she died last night, no condolences needed... I have struggled my entire life to rid myself of the effects of her abuse and influence

...what I am pleased about is that a couple of years ago I was able to persuade her to donate her body to Michigan State University for research and last night I was told they will take her

I have signed up to donate my body to UVM and have told my children...

while not all are comfortable with the prospect, it is worthy of consideration...

So, what exactly is whole body donation? Simply put, it is a program that gives you the
opportunity to donate your body to science. A life-affirming alternative to a traditional funeral
or cremation, Science Care’s whole body donor program links donors with medical
researchers and educators that are working to advance medicine for us all.
Upon acceptance there is no cost and includes cremation.
Join the registry today and support life.

It's a comfort to me to know that my body will still be somehow useful after I have no further need of it.

my sister is concerned that the ashes won't come back for 3 years... but I figure it's a small price to pay...

while dying of cancer '05-06, chose to donate to Albany Med College...after her passing and me sobering up I did the same.
Best decision she ever got me to make.

Nancy's ashes were back in a yr as promised by Albany Med.

Forensic Anthropology Center

They dump you outside in different situations to gather data about decomposition. Afterwards, they clean up the skeleton and add it to the 'William Bass Donated Skeleton Collection', which numbers somewhere around 1k individuals at this point.

Donated so I could do dissection. I plan to pay forward the sentiment, for the good of knowledge. I hope to be accepted at Duke. That's why I plan a nice quiet death. That is, unless someone else is offering a freak dancing accident as a way out... well?
