To whom it may concern (my post concerning Serbia/serbs

in the thread about the statue of a murderer they erected that was hidden)...

Sorry If I offended anyone if my post.. ive honestly never had a pleasant encounter with anyone from Serbia over the interwebs. I didn't see it as an ethnic slurring by calling the majority of serbians ive met neo-nazis.. because they were infact self proclaimed nationalists. I didn't say all of them, just the ones ive encountered over the internet.

I even asked if someone else knew anyone from Serbia personally because I wanted to know if most serbians had this ego trip of a personality like the folks I had encountered through discussions of politics over the web...
again, Im sorry.. hate speech wasn't my intent.. nor do I think all serbians are hateful (nor did I say that)..

here is what I said , just in case people are wondering what the crap im rambling on about .. :

"Ive yet to meet a Serbian online that wasn't a complete egotistical nationalist neo Nazi asshole with their heads so far up their own ass theres noway they can see the keyboard to type...
they are a sick sick SICK people..

anybody on DU have any experiences in real life with anyone Serbian? I hope that im wrong about the mass majority, but stories like this seem to say Im completely right...."

Again, I apologize.. especially for the "they are sick sick sick people".. I honestly didn't mean it to be against ALL Serbian people... just those ive talked with online.

thanks for the learning experience tho, and I hope to grow from it.

im sure ill get more scolding for apologizing (and showing what I had said), but maybe that's part of my learning experience too.

I hope that none of you will think of of me as a hateful person. Im truly sorry.

My foreign exchange student was from Serbia. We try to talk every week or two. I'm the foreign exchange grandma to her three kids.
Nicest young lady I ever met. I'm happy she lived with me for a year, and for the rest of my life she will be a part of my family.

they are far from Neo Nazis. In fact they hate Nazis, the whole world war II thing. But I don't think you can really label people who take pride in their country of Origin Nazis. If that is the case then there are Mexican Nazis, Irish Nazis, English Nazis, hell anyone who displays their heritage on a regular basis would be a Nazi.

and a truly beautiful person. It's never wise to stereotype people by any measure, whether nationality, region, gender, race, religion, or any other factor. It's never true.
