An op by Rhiannon12866 about GM recalls got me to wondering.......
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10025162245

Haveing picked up a used car, not GM, were there any outstanding recalls that applied to it?

And its not just cars. They cover bunches of stuff!

My "dysfunctional" government to the rescue.
Stick that in your ear Teapublicans.

They keep track of shit 14 years after it is made and sold.

It was actually kind of funny, it said, do not park in garage due to risk of fire from faulty fuel tank strap. I've had it for years and finding out just now that it could've gone up....

Typical I will buy new or close to it then run the car until the cost of the parts exceed the the expected life of the rest of it.
After the poor beast had already long been rusting away somewhere I got a recall letter on the wiring harness.
The funny part was that I "tripped over" the problem a number of years prior. I was changing spark plugs and the harness just disconnected. That would have been a real hoot on the highway.

It is good that somebody somewhere is keeping tract of it. I looked up the current critter and four of four are 'nits'.

I often see news about recalls, the reason I posted the complete list of GM recalls, but you're right, there are lots and lots and lots! Great post!
