I followed California Peggy's threads on him after his surgery and was nervous about his recovery. But I haven't seen any word since.
Can someone update me, please? I don't know the gentleman, but I followed his all too human story with so much hope for him...
Thank you all...

(149,611 posts)I have been talking to his sister, who checks in on him pretty regularly, and I want to ask her permission to update all you good people. There are things they don't want talked about, so I need to clear it with her.
I can say this: He is alive, and doing pretty well.
I have much hope for a positive outcome.
Thank you for asking about him. This has given me the push I needed to contact his sister for permission.

(63,912 posts)thank you for letting me know. Of course, we must all respect the privacy of his family at this time.
I'm just glad to hear good news.

I know it's a long shot, but it can happen. Attitude has a lot to do with such things I believe. He's been so very fortunate to have people such as yourself to keep his morale up and keep him positive. He knows how loved and valued he is. I believe in my heart this matters.
Thank you. For keep us abreast of his condition, and for being there for him!

(113,052 posts)I know I tend to handle these things quietly, but, I've been going through a harder time emotionally with it all since finding out about Junkdrawer. The Junk of my imagination was even in my dreams last night. The 12-13 years being attached to people is more than some families experience. kef, Andy, 180, nostamj,et al....just getting harder every day.

Shit, blm - Junkdrawer? Damn. I miss all those you mentioned, and Sapphire Blue, too.

(81,238 posts)We actually struck up a conversation and started emailing each other. Talking mainly about activism and stuff.
And almost as suddenly as it started, he was gone. Dammit!
And I miss Sapphire Blue. I notice her name doesn't come up as regularly as Khephra's and Andy's and others - so I try to add it in. She ALWAYS kicked my threads. Wherever she is, I hope it's loaded with beauty.

(34,136 posts)Last night I did a search to see if I had missed any updates since the June 5 one. When I didn't find anything I hoped that he was doing good.
Send him and his family best wishes and my love.

(149,611 posts)I did tell her that many of us are holding good thoughts for his recovery and how much we care for him.
I asked her permission to talk about his condition.
I hope to hear back within the next day or two, and when I do, I will update.
You have my word.
