1,000 people turn up to protest Hillary Clinton's book signing!!!!!

1,000 minus 999. Okay, the thread heading should read ONES OF PEOPLE PROTESTING OUTSIDE CHAPPAQUA LIBRARY!!!!!

I drove by the place Hillary is doing a book signing tomorrow...I wanted to look at the sign they had posted at the Chappaqua Library late this afternoon to see what time the event was so I could try and go if work isn't too crazy. As I get closer to the library I see a guy standing in front with a sign. As I drive closer still I hear someone honk and someone yell "ASSHOLE" at the guy standing on the sidewalk with the sign. Mr. Dorky and I see that the guy is holding a sign that says "HILLARY CLINTON-CARPETBAGGER, LIAR, FRAUD". Guy was mighty lonely, and silly looking.

When I got home I googled "Hillary Chappaqua book signing" and read that a sign in town was vandalized last weekend; hope they questioned the moron outside the library, especially as the CPD is across the street from the it. http://westchester.news12.com/news/police-vandal-defaced-sign-promoting-hillary-clinton-book-tour-at-chappaqua-library-1.8532466

These assholes just don't want to give up the Benghazi stupidity do they?

Is the meaning still "a Northerner (Yankee) who moved to the South after the U.S. Civil War, especially during the Reconstruction era (1865-1877), in order to profit from the instability and power vacuum that existed at this time?" (from Wikipedia)

Bottom line is this, though--if the voters don't care, they don't care. It's an uphill climb for Out of Towner Brown--mainly because he's an idiot (he does have a "vacation home" up that way), but it was less of a drill for RFK, Elizabeth Warren, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, and Mike Bloomberg, to name a few.

Actually on second glance, the guy in front of the library was a grey squirrel.

and Daniel P. Moynihan (originally from OK, like E. Warren, a carpetbagger herself!), for example!

Scott Brown is running for Senate in NH--carpetbagging from Massachusetts after his ignominious defeat at the hands of "carpetbagger" Warren, mentioned above! I'll bet Dorky Little Signboy doesn't have a problem with his carpetbagging candidacy...!

Westchester is a NYC bedroom community and Chappaqua is home to some very wealthy people...lots of international business people who take the train to Wall Street or Madison Avenue every day, and we're very used to people relocating to our area. Its not an issue for anyone I've ever talked to (her being from another state that is) so I wonder if the guy was just some jackass from out of town trying to stir up shit. Its her adopted hometown; the Clintons can be seen getting coffee at Starbucks or walking down Greeley Avenue in the middle of town, they're part of the fabric of Chappaqua. From the expression on his face I don't think Little Signboy was expecting the "crickets' he got - I got the impression he was expecting people to go "yeah, she IS a carpetbagger, liar and fraud! I'll go and join that guy behind his sign!!!".

The thing that Mr. Dorky and I couldnt stop laughing about was that just as we were driving right up to him, he turned his sign toward us so that we didn't have to incur the hardship of stopping or craning our necks to see his incredibly well-crafted and articulate sign. He was like "oh look, here comes another car! I'd better show them my well-crafted and articulate sign before they get away! Maybe they just need the TRUTH shown to them in big letters drawn in black magic marker! Imagine, I could change their LIVES RIGHT NOW with my SIGN!!!!!" as he turned the sign in our direction.

I bet he's home right now, feet on the coffee table, beer in one hand thinking "yeah, that couple in the gold SUV...I think I may have really gotten through to them".

If you see the bozo again, and have a cell phone, give him the old THUMBS UP (which means something very different in the Middle East...heh, heh) and then take his picture and share it with us! We could all use a laugh and that sounds like an image that's almost as much fun as the iconic "Get A Brain" guy!

There's nothing like a bit of whack-a-doodle ire and rage to bring a bit of glee to the table!
