Hobby Lobby's lawyer, Lori Windham, just said contraceptives "could

terminate a human life" (as opposed to preventing an unwanted pregnancy) and that HL employees start at DOUBLE minimum wage.

How do you terminate a life that does not exist and does HL really pay their employees $14.50+ to start?

they only pay their Full time employees those wages. From our local store, they pretty much only hire men in their full time positions.

So thing that prevent conception are different than those that prevent implantation.

(this question was previously posted in a different thread)

This was done for the "life begins at conception" religious nuts, correct? So IUDs and Plan B "kills" little clumps of human cells according to their religious beliefs. They feel they have the right to deny paying for such coverage. What about birth control pills that prevent fertilization altogether? There is no religious rationale to deny those contraceptives nor their coverage.

but I fail to see any way to disinquish this case from a Catholic who is against any birth control bringing the same case unless there is no such closely held corporation owned by a Catholic.

I doubt HL pays anything other then minimum wage! That would affect their checkbook religion!!

I think the saying "that could terminate a human life" is a cover. They'll stop coverage for all contraceptives before the end of next month.

Their beef was with IUDs and drugs like Plan B, which they believe kill fertilized eggs. They're totally wrong, of course, but that's where the "terminate a human life" comes from.
