Heads up there is a derecho building across S WI and N Ill.

The front is currently following an e ne direction and relative to east west, is about even Rockford, IL

Stow the patio/yard furniture and remember to stay away from the windows...there may be lots of stuff flying and a good chance of broken glass.

on the back side of the bow. Not sure how high that will go...but the house I've been building is directly in it's path.

Years ago, a big wind, not a tornado, took off most of the first roof sheathing while it was still just in frame.

I hope this means I'm pre-disaster-ed.

For Northern MO(and a few adjacent Kansas counties) as well, including the K.C. metro. Moderate Risk still forecast tonight.

I'm outta here. It's scary on the sixth floor--I've seen it look like the freaking Wizard of Oz, with the wicked witch flying straight past, with lots of debris blowing sideways way up in the air.

Did I mention I'm outta here?

Did major damage in my neighborhood, with huge trees knocked down, hitting houses and cars. More than any other storm or hurricane I can remember.
