The latest SCOTUS decision is just one step in ending family planning and shutting down Planned Parenthood in the US. It is also about shutting down all means of birth control EXCEPT abstinence or "rhythm method". The other goal is to criminalize contraception and abortion that will result in prosecution and jailing of women and providers.
As radical as what I have just said sounds follow the logic and the hidden agenda. Given the power the GOP will give these people what they actually demand. Look at all the actions that are being taken by the foes of women's reproductive rights. Look at the protests, the law suits, the trap laws, et al that they are using to make family planning difficult and abortion nearly now unavailable. Look all the actions they are taken nationally.
Until women wake up and vote in pro women legislators the situation will continue to deteriorate. The religious right has the Court on its side are looking for just the right case to strip women of their rights on reproduction. Personhood is the biggest threat to women's rights. If personhood is found to be correct by the court, it is game over for family planning.
I knew all along that contraception has been the target since the beginning of the antiabortion fight. And religious right views only procreative sex with the man calling the shots as the only sex that should be allowed and they are willing to make such idea the law of the land.

(10,602 posts)Laws re criminalizing sex outside of marriage and restoring sodomy laws. Another part of their hidden agenda is to make divorce very difficult or illegal. Some GOPPERS have proposed FORCED counseling when people seek divorce.
Voter apathy and inattention are their best weapon to gain power. And off year elections are their best friend.

How many times have we heard those on the right moaning and crying about the decreasing birth rate among white Americans? IMHO, the Tea Party would be quite happy with turning our nation into a theocracy and enact some of the same laws.

(67,111 posts)the fuck up as to what is going on. Problem is, many Americans never look up out of the ruts they toil in each day to see the big picture of where we might well be headed with this religious nonsense.

(10,602 posts)The sub host for the Stephanie Miller Show just said what I said in a similar way. I have seen an article on Alternet where the author says the religious right is all about controlling sex in the US. Their goal has nothing to do with pro life and anti abortion or contraception. It is about even legislating how people have sex according to Biblical principles.
