I'm about the blow a fuse...

Turns out that the Green family's "deeply held religious beliefs" about birth control date all the way back to....um....2012. That's when Hobby Lobby was contacted by a right-wing legal foundation about a challenge to the ACA. According to the Green family, they were shocked (shocked, we tells ya) to learn that their insurance coverage includes birth control which they, being fucking morons, think is no different than an abortion. And so the Green family dropped the coverage and sued the government.

Yep. It was a con job from Day One.

A "normal" pregnancy costs about $30,000. Complications quickly make that much more expensive - ending that "normal" pregnancy with a c-section adds $20,000.

Birth control is much, much, much, much cheaper. Which is why insurance companies are happy to cover it, and didn't object much to the ACA's requirement that they cover it.

So if they really stop covering birth control, I'd expect their insurance costs to go up.

Wonder what would happen if there was a clause in the ACA that allowed them to drop birth control coverage for a hefty premium that would cover the extra expenses of pregnancy?

I've been pissed off for the past three days.

This ruling was nothing more than enshrining gross ignorance as the law. No matter what fucking moronic opinion you may have, it has the force of law as long as you say it while waving a Bible.

And now? It was just a dodge, and a pack of gibbering idiots are high-fiving each other, without the least idea of what they've just done.

It costs about $30,000 without insurance to have a baby.

Every Hobby Lobby employee or dependent that turns up pregnant, Hobby Lobby pays a $30,000 fine.

David and Barbara Green only have 3 children. So. . . how did they avoid being The Duggers? I think it could be . . . . BIRTH CONTROL? Or else they decided after 3 kids they wouldn't do no moe' sexin'. Something tells me these x-tians go by two standards. One for themselves and quite another for their employees and all the rest of us.

almost everyone is missing the fact that their insurance DOES cover most types of birth control. SO, we need to be sure we rag on them with the correct info or the little slip ups will be used against our argument.

History of Mardel

In 1981, Mart Green, CEO, stepped out of his family’s business, Hobby Lobby, to pursue his own dream in the Christian and office supply retail market by opening the first Mardel retail store in northwest Oklahoma City. The store was small in size, approximately 7,200 square feet, but carried a large variety of products, including Bibles, books, office supplies, church supplies, music, and gifts.

From that point on, Mart’s vision and leadership brought about the expansion of product selection and retail stores—now 35 stores total—into several states, including Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado and Louisiana. Stores now average approximately 25,000 square feet with additional product selections in movies, kid products, apparel, educational supplies, and homeschool curriculum.

Mardel’s corporate location is headquartered with Hobby Lobby’s complex in Oklahoma City and Mardel has more than 800 employees.

Their 401k plans and their own investments include companies that make birth control methods including Plan B.

Over 40% of the merchandise they sell is manufactured in China, who has state sponsored abortions.

They are the worst kind of Christians.

We need you, we need everyone in this fight.

Just a suggestion, maybe someone can start making a list of all the other suits against the ACA and do some poking around about how they got started. I think something like this should have been out in the public long before the suit made it to SCOTUS.

The Mennonite co. that joined fellow woman-haters in the Hobby Lobby case, got paid $25000 by the Heritage Foundation just for being part of the lawsuit. I live in a part of PA with lots of Mennonites and I never knew they were especially opposed to contraception.

And of course the Supreme Court knew that. Just another loophole for corporations to jump through so they don't have to pay for coverage for ABC or XYZ or 123, etc., etc. It's ALWAYS about the money. More profit for them, less for us that we need to live. And all branches of government are complicit. They'll all get huge barrels of money for all the stock they bought up in preparation for this ruling. SCOTUS has been in the pocket of big business for more decades than I've probably been alive (which is longer than I care to admit).

Businesses have been chomping at the bit to separate health care from employment. And thanks to certain laws it will happen... but the employees will not get one red cent back from employers in paychecks in order to pay for health care on our own (salaries are greatly reduced because of employers providing health insurance to employees), and as a result we get screwed to the wall, and their savings adds up to a shit pot of profit.
