Best moment of the Sunday Shows---It Happens SO Rarely

by digby

It happens so rarely ...

Liberal radio host Stephanie Miller on Sunday explained to former Republican U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina that her study of medieval history would “come in handy” after the Supreme Court ruled that corporations like Hobby Lobby could deny birth control coverage to women for religious reasons.

“A lot women including me are sick of the ‘war on women’, and we saw it in spades on Monday after the Hobby Lobby case,” Fiorina told a CNN panel. “Somehow this is the long arm of business and the Republican Party reaching into the body of women. It’s ridiculous.”

“The war on women is shameless, baseless propaganda, there’s no fact to it, and it’s worked because it’s scared women to death,” she insisted. “Enough. Enough.”

“I respect you very much as a woman for your accomplishments,” Miller snarked in response. “I even read that you studied medieval history, which I think will come in handy with trying to defend the Republican war on women.”

Miller noted that every woman she knew was “furious about he Hobby Lobby decision.”

“This is not just a war against women, this is a war against science, Carly,” the radio host explained.

“Oh, for heaven sakes,” Fiorina gasped.

1- She's a Republican
2- She's been a CEO, who always have the best corporate healthcare options
3- She's rich enough to easily pay cash for her birth control needs and...
4- She turns 60 this year, so it's fairly safe to bet she no longer needs birth control pills unless
it's for another medical reason

Shit head Carley got away with way to much gibberish using the Gish Gallop and she got away with it because Crowley gave her most of the floor.. Stephanie needed to shut her down completely take one of her points which were nonsense and stick on top of her basically shutting her down

Right wingers are experts at this.. You see it all the time . In fact Romney won the 1st debate using this technique.

Stephanie Miller!!! Oh, how I miss her. TPTB decided what Seattle really needed was a 3rd (or is it 4th) sports talk station. We lost 'em all. Now there is no progressive radio in this huge Seattle market. Yearly I drive from Seattle to Sacramento and before we lost it, 1090 could be heard from nearly the Canadian border to just about into Portland OR. Then I would switch to KPOJ in Portland and listen to progressive radio until just after Eugene. Then I switched to books on CDs. Sacramento has no progressive radio either. With the loss of stations all across the country, why do we wonder why it's so difficult to get our message out. WE DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO THE AIRWAVES, that's why. The amalgamation of station ownership down to just a few mega-corporations limits differing opinions from being heard. And yet, you can't surf the stations without running into Rush What'shisname all over the dial at nearly any time of day.

If you had DISH, you could watch her radio from 6-9AM PST, M-F (or DVR it if you're not home for viewing at your convenience) on channel 9415. And Norman Goldman has a free ap. so you can listen to his show in the afternoon, 3-6PM, M-F, right in your car using your iphone. Find out how at http://www.NormanGoldman.com
Also, you can listen to Norman live on your computer from 3-6PM, PST.

We live in a very rural area,
and couldn't live without our XM.
It is also great for long drives.
