(3,496 posts)To be honest there are a lot of christian faiths that believe financial success is a reflection of God's divine providence; that achieving financial success is akin to following Gods path, being righteous in every way. Mitt Romney is a perfect example of it. In his mind his extreme financial success means his path is blessed by God (he can do no wrong). I'm not picking on Mormons, I've heard this said of the Amish faith also. IMO there are some things the Amish do that make me cringe (puppy farms) but in their mind the more successful they are, the more God is blessing their way.
I by no means agree with this thought but I think a lot of Christians feel that those who do not achieve financial success are being punished by God. There is no such thing as greed in their minds. Achieving financial success is God's way of saying theirs is the right path.

When people are hard working, creative, and or charismatic, they should be rewarded for it. But when it leads to destructive or disruptive concentrations of power...society has to step in.
