Dems in gun-control states will support gun control. Dems in pro-gun states will oppose gun control. The politicians will make the choice that best matches the views of those that vote for them to maximize their chances of election.

A more realistic expectation will be that politicians will not voluntarily inject gun control into their campaigns. They will focus on jobs and the economy. I doubt gun control will be a major issue this fall.
