(9,610 posts)been many, many years, but I think those prices are 250% street prices.

(19,567 posts)I think it depends on what you're buying nowadays. The good stuff is about that price for four grams where I am. Judging by the pics, I'm guessing that would qualify as worth the money.
I don't smoke anymore myself, but most of the people I know who don't work in an industry which prohibits it do. I see a lot of pot, but I'm far from an expert.

(12,530 posts)The WA pricing looks really high to me. I'd imagine that after the initial furor dies down and more shops open, their prices will drop.

(19,567 posts)Where I am we hear stories of NoCal and it's premium weed. I didn't realize it was even cheaper there. Seriously, your location is infamous in the weed smokers lexicon. If I wasn't employed in a place where I can't indulge I'd be totally jealous of you right now!
Edit: Cheaper meaning than where I am. Not the norm. Just to be clear.

(12,530 posts)I used to get bad Mexican brick weed. Lower prices, lower quality, and higher risk. I expect most of that to change in most of the states in 10 to 15 years.

(27,677 posts)I don't smoke (anymore) but isn't it cool that if I wanted to I could walk into a store right now and buy an ounce?

(13,141 posts)which is very reasonable, comparatively, unless you are
comparing to Uruguay where I think an ounce would be
about 28 dollars.

(19,877 posts)$50 for 2 grams isn't too bad for some grade A FDA approved organically grown MJ.
Cheers.

(15,888 posts)is because the state will only certify a small amount of growers; and that certification was granted just a few weeks ago. There simply isn't enough time to grow the legal weed as of yet. Give them a couple of months and that price will drop dramatically. Oh, BTW, I saw on the news this morning that the first person to buy legal weed in Washington state is a man from Kansas. (I guess he's not in Kansas any more!)

(3,508 posts)From one of about 5 min dispensaries along a 1 mile strip in south Seattle. Hope the state leaves them alone for awhile, but of course they won't.

Even the cheapest medical is very high quality imo.
