I'm in the U.P. of Michigan for most of the summer.Just had guests from Arizona leave after 3 days of crappy weather here in which they practically froze to death. My son and daughter in law have been waiting all summer to spend a week at their cottage near Petoskey where the high on Tuesday is going to be 61! This is starting to look like the summer that never was here in the Upper Midwest. How is your summer going?

(501 posts)And much rainier. I really hate the hot dry summers. Right now it feels like early fall.

(40,416 posts)This last winter was amongst the worst in recent times here. It seems that the cold temperatures are going to continue for the near future. I equally despise 90's (or above) and 60's (or below) in the summer.
But it has been cool in summer here for the past couple of years.

(115,103 posts)Been in the upper 90's for a while. This weekend should be up in the low 100's. Yeehaa

(22,165 posts)90's-100's ... I barely lasted in the heat of Virginia ... I can't imagine surviving in that heat

(22,165 posts)I never could tolerate the heat ... now, at 52, I REALLY can't stand it.
Though I will admit, our last winter was horrific

(22,165 posts)My dad lives on the lake a bit north of Petoskey ... I have always used it as an escape from the heat. (I have spent most of my summers there since I was 5 years old).
i haven't been to the UP yet, this season ... but I always plan on it being cold (and look forward to it ... Paradise here I come)

(30,676 posts)wet and cold too much of the time for Denver--this weekend early monsoon with highs dipping into the seventies. Late freeze after mother's day (!) and hail ruining everybody's gardening projects.
HUGE Spring runoff causing flooding and destruction and landslides downhill from the mountains. Then refreezes at altitude. Then melting and runoff again. I think about 6 folks have died this year due to high waters while rafting or trying to cross the road. It isn't going away.
