when Russia took over Crimea. Putin's thuggery and desire to recreate the USSR is evident to all yet little fuss was made. The lack of real consequence I think emboldened Putin and more importantly emboldened those Russian pigs in Ukraine.

(21,786 posts)because forcing a potential military confrontation between nuclear-armed opponents is always something that's been avoided since there've been nucelar-armed states. The potential consequences were and are potentially a lot worse than the deaths of a few hundred civilians.

And "Europe" is not really a unified entity as such. The most credible response to Russian military action would come through NATO, not "Europe".

If they didnt side with him on policy they sure as hell made him out to be a tough cowboy while Obama the wimp, when the opposite is what is actually true

(12,530 posts)Whoever launched the missile, whoever ordered it, and whoever financed it--those are the people at fault. We don't yet know who those people are, but it's increasingly sounding like it was Russian backed separatists.
