UN Security Meeting

Heard something about it on the TV, but don't know where or when or on what channel if it's on any channel. Looked on C-Span and am too dumb to figure out what they're telling me.
Saw a form wanting my name address and shoe size and said they'd email me with information about it. ?

Would like to see the UN having arguments and suggestions on the Iraeli-Gaza situation....

Anybody know where I can tune in?

The sit around and wait until the problem explodes and then they think: We should have a meeting some day.

The UN sucks. Of course, bush and his gang made it suck, and lo and behold it still sucks.

because it doesn't do what it was intended to do. I think maybe not enough power, and 4 countries have Veto power, so no matter what the entire assembly votes, just one of the 4 don't like it, no go. Can't remember the title of the FOUR...

But we are represented by Samantha Power. She's attractive, sharp and intelligent, in my opinion, so we are well represented.

Pray to whatever god you like that they find a way to end the madness that has gone on since '47. Enough is enough.

The UN building was hit with a truck bomb, even tho US security was all around. It was just another form of shock and awe, and it worked. The UN then bailed from Iraq.

Then there was the wiretapping of UN conversations. I wonder, you think bush didn't put the fear into them?

Israel has been on the winning end of many security council vetoes, almost as if Israel had some special pull.

contributions made to candidates who win office and vote pro-Israel.

Just a hunch.

It was set up to make, and keep peace.

The UN has tried to make peace in the Middle East, but the US kept giving the UN a bloody nose.

I am in favor of UN peacekeeping troops on the ground in Gaza. When this started up again, this 'mowing grass' as the Israelis call it, the UN should have placed many troops there. They could have ships anchored off shore and troops ferried in within days. But that might make Israel mad. Guess what? Israel being just mad, instead of going mad, like it is, would be better for everyone. Especially for the children of Gaza.

like they did in the past, but there are more politicians who do .....

The ones who mostly do believe the bible, paraphrased, "I will bless those who bless you, and
curse those who curse you,"

They are Christians waiting for Jesus to come back, are afraid to criticize Israel because they fear god because of the bible verse, and hate the earth as it is, and can't wait to be raptured and leave all us doomed critters behind as they thumb their noses at us while they rise to the sky.

Can't capitalize god because there's too many of them going by lots of names, which I would capitalize if I knew the right Name....

The rapture already happened. And you are still here. What does that tell you?

I believe in karma and reincarnation. I believe some of us are here, now, to do all we can to keep, and make peace. That's all i care to grok. As far as i care, the warmongers can all go straight to the hell they have pointed themselves toward.

Samantha Power was high-tailing it in there (what long legs) - and she was eloquent in her remarks about Malaysia 17 - especially when discussing the children who were killed, infants.....

I'd really like to hear the program...and it will be starting soon. Am very disappointed that it is closed. Leaving computer for a while just in case somebody has Jimmy Carter's secret camera and is concurrently showing the live discussions.

Heard suggestions throughout the day, none worth remembering except the one that said the heads of the governing bodies of both sides of the battle should be replaced....Duh, if this doesn't come up, they're blind as bats and there's no hope....my opionion, not everyone's.

Samantha was "fired" from the Obama campaign when he ran in '08 because she said.., well, things are better forgotten that might start DU wars. Enough wars everywhere else without starting one here.

The only positive thing, and I mean the "ONLY" positive thing, is that CNN is again a news channel. However, most of it is too sad to watch instead of too stupid, and that is the bad thing.

A doppelganger of CNN's Programing Department Head is now working at C-Span. They are showing the Nixon Impeachment. Can't change the schedule even if WWIII is impending on 2 or 3 fronts....carry on, C-Span.

Despite Russia introducing amendments to slow things down, there is growing agreement and a vote is said to be scheduled for 3pm Monday.

On Gaza they are said to be awaiting more guidance from the SecGen, who is traveling in the region. ETA: CNN reported just now that the Security Council is calling for a Gaza ceasefire.
