On a more serious note, we should bring back the guillotine. It works, it's quick, it's a lot more humane than this BS with drugs that don't work. But more importantly, if we, as a society, are going to kill people as a form of punishment, then we should own up to it. Execution shouldn't be this nice, clean, minimalist thing that people just watch before going home to sit in front of the TV, it should be in-your-fucking-face bloody. I want those who are proponents of the death penalty to experience killing in full. Heck, they should all take a rotation being the one to throw the switch, release the blade, fire the shot, or whatever method is used.

If I were being executed, I'd rather have the guillotine. Even a firing squad would be preferable.

But my main reason is that I want us, as a nation, to own up to the fact that we kill people. There are arguments that can be made saying it's better to do that than to put people in prison for life, and I'm really on the fence with it. But if we kill them, then let's deal with that head-on as a society.
