About those polls that show overwhelming support for Israel by the US public...

...what I would really like to see is how it differs between different cultural/ethnic groups.

My guess: Support is overwhelming amongst white and/or christian Americans and not overwhelming
amongst others.

I find it plausible that it is more a cultural/racial bias than anything else. Curious what the data say.

There was a poll done a week or so ago that showed more detail. I have no idea where it was, I believe I saw it on DU. Or, it may have been on Discussionist. I seem to recall a few comments about how Libs/Dems are traitorous, Satanic, commies or some shit.

ie Do you support Israel or Hamas? Do you support Israel's position on Gaza or do you support the position of the Palestinians on Gaza?

My bet is the first question would get overwhelming support for Israel while the second question would not.

I have seen nothing on the MSM about Israel's actions after the initial teenager's deaths (the mass roundups and other provocations). Nothing on how Palestine has a government prepared to recognize Israel's right to exist and make many other concessions. Nothing about "mowing the lawn" and other Likud strategies.

Only stories about Hamas' rockets and how they won't "just accept a ceasefire" and other stories designed to support the narrative. So I am not surprised that people support Israel. Americans have been taught to do so for a very long time.
