racists at least come up with something more original than the monkey comparisons? That comparison between blacks and monkeys has been around for ages--since before any of my grandparents were born. They desperately need some new material.

To be fair to a lot of DUers, these comparisons don't turn up often.

So during the Crimean annexation process a lot of people were still saying how wonderful the pro-Russian Crimean "government" was.

Obama said something Aksyonov didn't like and his Tweet was that he'd like to annex DC and put Obama in the monkey cage where he belongs. DUers didn't "see" it and continued to call the folk in Kiev "racist" and "fascist" and the monkey-comment guy "one of us."

The DPR and LPR "pro-Russians" (mostly actual Russians) make similar comments about Obama. One recent one punned one the Russian word for "chimpanzee" (ob'yezyana) and Obama's name to come up with "Ob'yezyama" for the American President. Sort of like "Ape-ama". With "American" being the usual word they use, a blend of the Russian words for "American" + "fag". (They freely make up words for ethnicities + "fag" or "pussy". Their contempt for non-Russians is really all-inclusive.)

The next day they had a formal declaration addressed to "President of United States" asking for "help in resolving conflict in Donbas against Ukrainian fascist junta" or some such quasi-grammatical gibberish. There are good universities in the area. But anybody who's decent and not absolutely lock-step faithful they've locked up as political prisoners or forced to leave. They also don't see any contradiction in saying, "Fuck off, USA!" and calling Obama a monkey on day, then expecting to be treated with respect. It's like a KKKer kicking a Jew one day and then expecting to be greeted with sincere respect the next. It's a mental illness.

Its embarrassing. I like President Obama a whole lot more than I like Russia. The whole Ukraine project just seems like a CIA op when you look at the players. But now, its hard to have any sympathy for either side.
