What do you think about someone who calls your opinions..Diatribes?

I have a 30 year friend who I would consider moderately liberal in spite of the fact she has lived her life as a Lesbian. She under minds me excessively for my Liberal views saying that I only believe the way I do because I only listen to Liberal media. It's true I won't listen to Right wing media.I won't because all I hear are lies and distortions of the news and the truth. Recently she registered as a Republican because she wants to be closer to her "Enemies" as she claims. I don't need to be closer to something I already know is wrong in theory. Why waste my time? So what do you think? Who is right here?

I think that a lesbian who registers as a repub is like an abused wife who refuses to leave... peacebird Apr 2012 #1

A moth that flies to a flame.

The applicable analogies could go on forever.

Don't waste your time.

It sounds like your friend's been watching too much Fox News.

I made up my mind when I was 18 years old what it is I believe and WHY I believe it. I vote for my own best interests which is: For the Common Good of all, Not for any one issue(Single issue voters are nuts) Working class rights... and to be completely non discriminary to all minorities and others. The Republicans have shown me everything over the years..of all I am against. So why should I ever vote for one?

(and yes, that's been known to happen recently due to the war against my sex), I give the person a gelid look and suggest he or she look the word up because it obviously doesn't mean what s/he thinks it does.

Personally, I find tuning in to right wing propaganda to find out what they're saying akin to hanging my nose over a cesspit to see if it still stinks.

It invariably does, so why bother?

We really don't like most conservative view points, and we're vocal about it.
