The day after announcing it would “re-evaluate” the end of the lockout of its Memphis, Tenn., employees, Kellogg Co. has opted to allow the workers to report to work on Monday as previously directed.

The Battle Creek-based company said it will comply with a federal judge’s order last week requiring it to allow the some 220 affected employees to return to work. That’s despite a ruling by an administrative law judge on Thursday that said Kellogg’s proposals could be negotiated at the local level and its lockout was lawful.

The decision was “validation of our legal position,” company spokesperson Kris Charles said Friday, but “for now our key focus needs to be on bringing our Memphis employees back to work.”

“We will, of course, continue to consider the implications of ALJ decision and our path forward, and will be reaching out to the union as this process unfolds,” she said in an emailed statement to the Enquirer.

When they ended their sponsorship of Michael Phelps because he smoked cannabis despite the fact that probably half of the cereal eaten in this country is triggered by the consumption of cannabis I stopped buying their over-priced crap.

Since then I have moved on to eating healthy foods and they do not make those.
