"A Baton Rouge gun dealer known nationally as the star of Discovery Channels reality television show Sons of Guns was arrested over the weekend, accused of recently molesting a girl at his Greenwell Springs Road home.
William Will Hayden, the shows 49-year-old star, spent Friday night in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison before leaving sometime Saturday after posting a $150,000 bail on counts of molestation of a juvenile and aggravated crimes against nature, booking records show.
Sheriffs deputies arrested Hayden on Friday based partly on accusations made by a woman who told investigators that on Aug. 4 she saw Hayden inappropriately kissing the girl while he was undressed, according to a deputys statement attached to the warrant for Haydens arrest."

(2,273 posts)From what I read it sounds like he maybe innocent but who knows.

(2,273 posts)Says it was a former employee who accused him which can make it a false accusation out of spite.

(37,748 posts)Ahhh.... a guess based on bias. Gotcha.

(2,273 posts)People can make up their mind either way but till it goes to trial all the speculation in the world does not matter. The jury will make the decision and I could be correct or I could be wrong but I am not going to tar and feather someone till I see the evidence.
LanternWaste
(37,748 posts)You also said it sounds like he's innocent.

(2,273 posts)Former employees making accusations is not unheard of, however I am not dead set that he is innocent I would like to wait till I have all the evidence till I make a firm conclusion. But even with that I could be wrong and the jury could find him, innocent, guilty or it could never go to trial.

(20,631 posts)that it's incredibly creepy? 49-year-old man in his underwear slobbering all over a girl under the age of 13?
dilby
(2,273 posts)But if it was his granddaughter who he pecked on the head when she came into his room in the morning then not so much. Context of the situation can help to determine what may have or have not happened.

(16,188 posts)do not, repeat, do not allow your granddaughter into your room if you are standing there in your skivvies and then give her a kiss on the head.
much easier to have the door closed and say, "give me a minute, I'll be right out"
Context of the situation can help to determine what may or may have not happened but maybe it's just me, I would not let my granddaughter see me in my boxers....................................................no matter her age.

(2,273 posts)And it's not sexual in the least so there is no reason to start acting because you are in your underwear like it is something sexual.

theHandpuppet
(19,964 posts)But it appears the girl may have been under the age of 13? If that's the case, I'd consider that abuse whether the girl said she was abused or not. She may not even know what constitutes abuse -- many young girls don't, unfortunately.
BainsBane
(53,072 posts)They said suspected of abuse of a minor. Is there a separate designation for child? 12-13 is usually the cut-off age in terms of the severity of charges.

(10,129 posts)The penalties accompany a conviction when the victim is younger than 13 and the perpetrator is older than 17 under amendments to state law proposed this spring by legislators and later signed into law by Gov. Bobby Jindal that recently went into effect.

(2,186 posts)lots of people non gun owning people have been arrested and convicted for molestation.
Associating pedophilia and firearm ownership is false and wrong.
VanillaRhapsody
(21,115 posts)"Responsible" gun owners like this guy....If guilty should he br considered "resonsible" at anything...
IronGate
(2,186 posts)now, he may be a POS pedophile, that remains to be seen, but that has nothing to do with his owning firearms.
BTW, if he's convicted, his right to own firearms goes bye bye.
VanillaRhapsody
(21,115 posts)someone without self control has no business near weapons.....period.
Some people do not know what the word "responsible" even means...and I am from the deep South...MOST that I know do not keep their guns responsibly....just the way it is...
Take a trip down south and SEE for yourself.
if MOST gun owners were truly responsible....we wouldn't have nearly the amount of children with access to those weapons killing themselves and others...

(21,925 posts)I'm not asking that out of a prurient interest but I think it's relevant. If he kissed her on top of the head, for example, that happened frequently when I was a kid. Kids would often get kissed on the head by adults. Many times I was in a store or the bank when I was a young boy and strangers would pat my head out of the blue or muss my hair. Nowadays, i know it's a different world. Strangers don't even look young people in the eyes fearing that mere friendliness towards a kid might get misinterpreted. And I'm certainly not suggesting sexually-motivated touching by adults doesn't occur. More than the kissing (as I don't know enough about it) I'd be more concerned about a middle aged man being in a state of semi undress while in the girl's presence, unless she was a family member. My dad always hung around the house in his boxer shorts.
