Robin Williams was a regular guest on the Tonight Show. Granted I don't know if he appeared on Jimmy's show - but - Fallon being a comedian - it just seems to me that he should have commented on Robin Williams passing and paid tribute to him before he started his monologue.
Dave Letterman is in reruns this week - otherwise - I'm sure that Dave would have started his show with some heart felt comments about Robin Williams.
I'm really disappointed in Fallon.

(135,425 posts)People forget that Conan's show is taped LATER than Fallon's--Fallon is East Coast, Conan West Coast. Fallon didn't even know RW was dead while he was taping because of the three hour time difference. The news broke yesterday after he'd finished the show (which isn't live but taped in the afternoon).
Anyway, here's proof that Fallon isn't some uncaring jerk:

And youd watch him and you would cry laughing, and you would think, Im never going to see anyone like this human ever!, Fallon continued. It was just amazing. His brain was always thinking, 10 steps ahead of what he was thinking. He was the Muhammad Ali of comedy.
Fallon then introduced a clip of Williams first appearance on The Tonight Show when Johnny Carson was its host. After the video, Fallon joined the growing group of Williams fans paying tribute to the actor by standing on a desk, reciting a bit of Walt Whitmans poem, Oh Captain, My Captain! a nod to an early Williams film, Dead Poets Society.
