All these media people always bring in Chicago when ever there's a incident involving a black person

Being shoot by police or private person. When Sharpton and Jesse are called. They should ask these media people the next time they mentions Chicago how come you and your media are not in Chicago and what are the republicans solution to the problem since there always bringing it up. Here is a perfect example at the end of this interview Fox did with Jackson. WATCH http://www.mediaite.com/tv/jesse-jackson-responds-to-oreillys-name-calling-and-stereotyping/

Al Sharpton's National Action Network has offices in Chicago and Sharpton has been addressing what is happening there he even rented a apartment there and stayed a week to talk to the residents about the crime.Joe Madison has addressed the issue on his radio show. These fox.news and Republicans don't give a damn about what's happening there

I don't know how to convey it to DUers but the reality is that the Republicans and their talking heads jump up and down in glee every single time a brown person or other gets shot in America or meets their untimely death.

But to write that is macabre.

And we both know that's exactly what they do behind closed doors.

They aren't fooling me.

Someone posted the other day - does white equal Republican? I posed the question back in regards to black Americans.

But the reality is - the Republican Party by and large is indeed made up of white people who don't like the "other" and that includes white liberals of all ages.

Seriously. Black people kill black people all over the country - all over the world. Why is Chicago so important to white America.

Dodge - deflect - defer.

You just pulled a Bill O'Reilly.

So did I. I pulled the typical Republican move - I live in a good neighborhood.

When I tell folks what needs to happen in Chicago - I will be dismissed. Things like -

Address the job situation.
Address education.
Address segregation.
Address a criminal justice system that unfairly incarcerates black men. It's slavery by any other name.

See - if you want to focus on violence - go ahead.

I want to focus on the culture that creates the environment for violence.

Now what are your solutions and suggestions for creating an environment where violence is not seen as the only way to survive?

Truthfully? I live in a very good neighborhood. But I'm beginning to believe that regardless of where black people live - there is a target on our backs.

The reality is - if I'm murdered by a black man - it will be ignored.
If I'm murdered by a white man - my character will be assassinated to justify his actions.

I'd rather be murdered by a black man to save my husband, my mother, my siblings etc etc the pain of seeing me name dragged through the mud. It wouldn't even make the news or be mentioned since I don't live in Chicago.

Psst - there is a lot of tongue in cheek in this post.

I asked what your suggestios were. You either have none - or you don't really care.

I gave you four bullet points - pardon the pun.

You are wringing your hands - what would make you stop that?

Give me four ideas of what can be addressed to change the culture of violence.

Do you have one? Just one - that way it's easy.

ETA My four

Address the job situation.
Address education.
Address segregation.
Address a criminal justice system that unfairly incarcerates black men. It's slavery by any other name.

The question I asked in my initial response:

Now what are your solutions and suggestions for creating an environment where violence is not seen as the only way to survive?

People yelling "What about the black on black crime" really mean "I'm supposed to care when a cop kills a thug n*gger???"

That's what they mean to say. They know they can't say it, so they say "What about black on black crime?"

Can you imagine these people even stepping foot in Englewood?

Who can take their faux concern seriously?

But I see crime at a high level there every day when I go into work.

Let's talk about Princeton Ave and Harvard Street.

Can you share with us what those neighborhoods are like? Because I can see where my company's products are delivered to boarded up homes daily. I can see at a street level how people are living. . That's not right. That's not right that their only option is taking a job receiving "deliveries".

Deliveries equal drugs (burner phones) and illegal exports to China and Eastern Europe.

Indeed, list any action (other than bringing it up on message boards when white police officers kill black kids) that you've taken to curb violence in Chicago. Or any other place.

I'm curious.

I live in Chicago, by the way.

I think many people can be lectured about ignoring the core problems that lead to high murder rates in places like Chicago (needless to say, Chicago doesn't have even close to the highest murder rate in the country). But it's notable that the people doing the lecturing usually don't do jack shit about it, enjoying (yes, enjoying) the lecture more than any actual, you know, action. Maybe you too, maybe not. Perhaps you helped organize the "Don't Shoot | I Want to Grow Up" campaign. Perhaps you do gang outreach in North Lawndale.

But I doubt it.

For meeeeeeeeee?

My tongue in cheek was the "good neighborhood" comment. I don't really think that way - but there is truth there. It's easy for those of us in good neighborhoods to "wring our hands".

I ask instead - if those are the solutions - what can I do to make them a reality.

Now you live there - and you are telling me I've nailed it. So I'm sticking with my ideas,

But that doesn't change the fact that what you said is about as true as it gets.

Even though I left for greener pastures, I still keep up with what happens there.

Whenever anyone talks about "Black on Black Crime" or "Chiraq" without talking about the root causes, I might as well stop listening as nothing interesting will be said after that.

Blah, blah Black on Black Crime... Blah, Blah Chiraq... What is the Black Community going to do about it.

Sigh...

18. What gets me about the whole "black on black" crime statements
Sat Aug 16, 2014, 08:53 AM
Aug 2014

There's just as much white in white crime because people tend to kill within their social network--meaning black folk are gonna kill black folk and white folk are gonna kill white folk.

I posted stats yesterday on here that in 2010 there was actually more white in white homicides than black on black. White people don't have some special "we don't kill one another" pass. We do kill one another, you just don't hear about it because the media and politicians don't want white people to be afraid of white people.
