(12,958 posts)Or are they just frames that are supposed to make him appear 'smart'?
Did his image consultant conclude that he looked like a moron, thus he needed to appear nerdy by wearing glasses? Will they allow the empty frames on his head while he is getting the mugshot?

(53,661 posts)We'll see if he will turn in his guns at the police station. The Tea Party Patriots will be hollering 'Tyranny!' outside the station in full open carry mode.
If they don't, their little yellow snake will be trodden upon and they will only be remembered as yellow. Stay tuned.

(3,891 posts)If he was running for re-election. Please explain how Wendy Davis will use this to defeat Greg Abbott.
Abbot isn't involved, and at best you could claim he's the Attorney General while this is going on. His answer would be pathetically easy. The system is working etc. Even a Rethug is smart enough for that wouldn't you agree?
Best case scenario, Perry resigns, and another Rethug steps in for the time being. So that helps us how? That Rethug wins re-election returns to being the Lieutenant Governor, and nothing changes. As for Perry not getting the Nomination? We couldn't have gotten lucky enough for the Rethugs to nominate a man who couldn't speak in a complete sentence in 2012 during the debates. The worrying thing is it might be Rand Paul. Because he is smart enough to tap into the feelings of dissatisfaction in the people, and he might be able to ride that into the Oval Office.
I know this is disappointing to you, but most people hear the highlights, and decide this is partisan political payback. Even I think this is a bit less than Christie's bridge scandal, and nobody outside of New York/New Jersey cared about that.
My suggestion hasn't changed since January. Stay on target, stay focused on the Senate Races. Because if we lose the Senate, we're done. A Rethug Senate would rubber stamp all the crap flying out of the House, and send it to President Obama. Then we would have Veto fights for the next two years, which doesn't help us in any way.
Cheer if you want, but this is far too little, much too late to do any good. ROFL if you want, but I'm certain if we get distracted from the Senate, we'll lose the Senate, and under the best case give Wendy Davis the Governor's mansion with a vast majority Rethug legislature which means she'll be able to do nothing to reform the restrictive laws towards women.
We can console ourselves that Texas is blue in the Governor's mansion, while we bemoan the ability to change shit with a Rethug legislature and then gnash our teeth at the Rethug legislation landing on President Obama's desk.
