Corbett campaign yanks Texas Gov. Rick Perry's video endorsement from website

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Republican Gov. Tom Corbett's re-election campaign is seeking to distance itself from Rick Perry's legal troubles.

Campaign manager Mike Barley said Monday that the campaign removed a video endorsement by the Texas governor of Corbett from its website shortly after a grand jury indicted Perry on Friday on two felony counts of abuse of power.

Barley says the Corbett campaign pulled the video because it did not want the indictment to distract from the campaign.

Sounds like even his erstwhile friends don't want to appear too chummy with Gov. Perry. I'm sure this indictment, dismissed as a nothingburger and a waste of resources will totally come to nothing. But Corbett dropped Perry like he was radioactive, and dropped him fast. Probably out of an abundance of caution, and because Corbett's going to cruise to re-election, and should Perry pull through these charges, Perry won't be one to hold a grudge against his fellow Republicans who ditched him. Right?
