(20,819 posts)reason why he's doing this, since they claim to be "family-oriented" and "traditional" and all. I know I'm sympathetic, and I cannot stand the man politically and think he'd be beyond a disaster as president. Personally, however, I truly feel for him, his wife and family; suffering through the illness and likely death of a young child has to be the worst thing ever and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. He's doing the right thing in putting his child and family first, as difficult as it had to be for him to suspend the campaign.

(58,162 posts)putting his family first in their hour of need is lost on the freeper.
yes that is completely lost to them

But don't be surprised if Lady Blah Blah turns up on the teevee box in the next day or two blabbering away like a macaw on meth about all of this. She is the epitome of the blithering, publicity-seeking gobshite grifter

(3,539 posts)A far right lament.....
The left and the establishment right are worried about Newt. There has been blood in the water and its NEWT's blood and he hasn't forgot, which they know. With all of the liberal positions that Romney has had, they know he will be easy to manipulate, but Newt has no pity on all of those (left and right) that ruined his political carrier and if he becomes president, "katie bar the door"
Gingrich in 2012.
Newt will make the trains run on time!

liberalhistorian
(20,819 posts)polls had him leading in PA. I think it really is a matter of his terminally-ill daughter taking a turn for the worse and his putting her and his family first.
But what do I know, maybe you're right and I'm just being too gullible. Who knows.
southernyankeebelle
(11,304 posts)the first place. I believe he is really thinking about 2016. But he doesn't have a snowball chance in hell of ever winning. People do not want a theocrat for president. It's fine he has faith and is a believer but we don't want his religion being combined with politics.

This is so over-the-top funny that it's almost too easy. It's almost as good as the several "Sarah Palin save us!!" posts. LOL

(3,041 posts)Anyone who knows anything about true spirituality knows that the terms "spiritual" and "battle" do not go together. But they don`t want to use the actual word that DOES go well with "battle" - "Religious."

(7,947 posts)To hell with the GOP-e. Barring a miracle, they got their big government, unconstitutional mandate loving, socialist abortionist Obama-lite RINO on the ballot, they can now get him elected.
We are the resistance!!

(20,819 posts)for Willard. I had no idea that he's a socialist, abortion-loving, liberal big-government RINO. LOL. Boy, talk about delusional!
I get a kick out of how many of them call him Willard, though, as a sign of disdain and disrespect; we do that here as well. Exactly what are they gonna do when he's nominated and there's no other viable candidate???

100% behind you Jim!
I am a conservative first! So what is the plan if Romney is the nominee? How do we register a protest vote so that the elites know how many votes they LOST due to their unwise choice to be a party of moderates?
Do we jump ship and move our party registrations and then send a letter to the GOP?
Do we all vote for or write in another candidate?
What does the Freeper community think? And dont tell me to vote for Romney cause that wont fly.
