(8,556 posts)He was quite politically astute and came from a normal middle-class family. I guess you could argue he was out of touch with the counterculture, but so were a lot of other people of his generation.
Romney has successfully lost the support of the far right with his past moderate trends, but because of that he might have gained some moderates. He's down in the polls overall so far, but not terribly far behind. It should be close.
