Airline Gives Unaccompanied Minor to Wrong Person: Abductor (not that) Jennifer Lopez

It was the Jennifer Lopez thingy that caught my eye. How is it that a major news source doesn't have to put up a disclaimer (like I did in my title) - clarifying the obvious - that isn't so much so, until you read the story?

This is upon my Facebook page - by WTSP 10 News - stating;

[br]
WTSP 10 News
AIRLINE MIXUP: This little girl's dad is trying desperately to get his baby back after she flew on Delta as an unaccompanied minor. The airline gave her to the wrong person - and the person they gave her to was just released from prison.

{The wrong person is a Jennifer Lopez - but not the one we know - who was imprisoned for having hubby beaten/crippled}.

and then my FB page asks this question...

How would you handle this?

[br][hr][br]

This is the link to WTSP website that (apparently) is reporting a local Houston station (KPRC) and CNN.

http://www.wtsp.com/story/news/weird/2014/08/22/airline-gives-unaccompanied-minor-to-wrong-person/14432269/

It states that;

[br]
The 7-year-old was flying as an unaccompanied minor,

but was turned over to her mother-- who just got out of prison and shouldn't have custody of her.

[br][hr][br]

The story continues to reveal the details that;

{the child} was picked up by a relative -- but not one who is supposed to have custody of her. Angelina was greeted and taken by her mother -- 39-year-old Jennifer Lopez.

Butler -- who lives in Cincinnati -- still bears the injuries from the last time he saw the mother of his child. He walks slowly with a pronounced limp.

He was too emotional to talk to us on camera -- but says six years ago Lopez and several accomplices beat him severely and kidnapped Angelina and another child.

[br][hr][br]

So - as my FB page asked -

How would you handle this?

[br][hr][br]

Father & Daughter Reunited

Fortunately - they were reunited quickly - as the father flew down and picked up his daughter.

[br][hr][br]

Wonder if the mother Lopez - will wind back in prison - for picking up the daughter;
and/or - if another family member arranged for all this to happen.

May never know.....

What if the story title had been Jennifer Lopez's daughter abducted by - Jennifer Lopez....?

I'm just sayin.......

What a despicable, evil woman. She should never be allowed near her child again.

So it's Delta's fault that this family is a mess?

Where was the relative at and exactly who/which relative was supposed to be there? And how did the mother know about the child? And if the child knew the mother, well? Was the child supposed to say, "Don't give me to her, she was supposed to be in prison for beating my father, SIX years ago."

Ya...it's Delta's fault.

The one about the child knowing that her mother was a monster. Generally you don't tell kids that young that mommy is an attempted murderer.

that apparently were not followed.

If the pickup person at the destination changes, the accompanying adult must call Delta at 800-221-1212 to provide the new information.
•Upon arrival, if someone other than the person named at check-in is at the destination to pick up the child, a Delta representative will contact the original accompanying adult to verify the identification of the pickup person at the destination.
•The pickup person at the destination must obtain a gate pass to pick up the unaccompanied minor at the gate.
•At the point of departure, the accompanying adult must remain at the gate until the flight is off the ground.

why was the child flying alone? May-be I missed something in the story, but if my child had a parent that served time in prison for such a horrible crime, I don't think I'd be letting them fly alone at such a young age. Obviously this child was extremely vulnerable and even though the airline should've done a better job, too much was at risk to let this little girl fly alone.

to make sure it gets to the right person.

Very strict protocols - when they are under 12;
and (I assume) - he knew of it immediately - by calling/tracking when the little girl landed.

It IS Delta airlines fault (as - in this modern day - there are many stories of abduction by forbidden parents)

I presume the reason he stayed in Houston "for legal reasons" - was settling with Delta.
(the airlines counsel should be smart enough to shut the case down with Non Disclosure agreements - QUICKLY)
