I Owe Kali and the Rest of DU an Apology.

I disrupted what was supposed to be a non-meta gracious thread last night.

I can't respond in the thread as I was blocked out on a hide.

I take full blame; it was wrong and it won't happen again.

Kali, I am truly sorry.

I will admit I was taken aback that a very warm farewell posted to the hosts was taken in such an awful direction .... but, I think we all "eff" up sometimes.

Acknowledging it, apologizing for it ... is gracious and allows us all to get past it.

I am glad you posted this.

My opinion is isn't the priority... Kali holds that position. Kali is a treasure....I hope she sees this OP thread and her hurt feelings mend.

I fucked up, did a shitty thing, owned it and apologized. I'm down with that, but see that others might not feel that way.

Out of my control, so no sense in stressing about it.

Thanks, though!

I haven't been around on DU much--you and one other person know why.

I had a few minutes of down time tonight and wanted to catch up. I saw this post of yours...

I just wanted to let you know that even though I didn't see what happened I applaud you doing this. It can be hard to do, I know. I've done it.

We're all fallible humans we all make mistakes and say/do things we wish we hadn't. You've done what was right and that's all you can do.

I think it says a lot that you did this--not that it matters what some stranger on an anonymous message board thinks. .

Don't let it weigh on you. Life is too short for that. You never know what can happen.....

Sincere, contrite apologies (especially on boards like this) are few and far between and it's nice to see one like this.

I've always enjoyed your posts over the years I was an active member, even when I've disagreed with you. That's a hallmark of you as a person.

I've got a lot of respect for you doing that, though you don't need to apologise to the rest of DU, imo. Most of us have made a mistake like that before, and those who have the graciousness and integrity to apologise for their behaviour are the ones a few DUers who never apologise and always blame others for their own bad behaviour should take lessons from...

I'm fussy with who my friends are, and I'm glad yr one of them
