I must confess, I guessed the "punchline", if that's the appropriate word, before it came. But that doesn't diminish the importance of the message.

gate agent for many years. He likes to tell the story of being asked to help out with a problem on an airplane that had just boarded and was getting ready to depart. A middle-aged man was standing in the aisle, yelling at a uniformed service man, saying, "MY seat is 14A! You're in MY seat!"

The serviceman was sitting quietly, not saying anything. My friend said to the serviceman, "Please come with me, sir, I can seat you in first class."

The man then started yelling even more loudly, demanding to know why HE wasn't offered the first class seat. "Oh, no," my friend said. "YOU'RE seat is 14A"

Friend tells me the cabin erupted in applause.

Sometimes these things really do happen.
