two complaints I have heard in the past 12 hours I thought I would past on or get advice.

around my area of PA we have this place called Med Express... it has been advertised as a urgent care center... granted if you don't have insurance and you don't have $ 109.00 to be seen you are basically going up to the hospital to get care especially if you have no doctor yet like my cousin.

She switch jobs and is waiting for insurance from her new job she got hurt and really didn't want to file a worker comp complaint because she is 1) not fully done with the 90 probation period 2) had been requesting a transfer before she or the client got hurt--she requested the transfer 2 months ago and the company drag there ass. but she went to med express and told them well the pain started at work but didn't get bad until hours later. Med express insisted on making it workman's comp issue. she got informed that her work probation period will be extended and now med express is charging her the $210.00 the price they where going to charge the company who of course turned it down because they work with the hospital.

I told her go up to med express tell them to screw themselves that she had given them the $109.00 for service and they refunded the money so she should give them the $109.00 again and tell them they aren't getting another dime.

Second problem:

My wife has been locked out of her Hotmail e-mail account because they are "Overprotect" and demand she verify herself in case of future hack.

She went on tech support chat line and said she doesn't see how or why she should do this when the cell phone number ( which is five years old and never gave them... the only way for them to have the number is to have taken it from an e-mail which she sent someone.) and they said all she has to do is verify herself and give them a cell phone number so that they can text her a code so she can type it into the hotmail system.

My wife is refusing. SHE is TIRED of being "protected" out of her constitutional right (i.e patriot act etc...) she is tired of being "protected" out of her privacy because places like twitter and facebook is making people like my wife look like some sort of "red Flag nut" case in point a job she recently considered applying for demanded access to her facebook and twitter accounts to "protect" there company from a bad reputation. My wife said she had neither and and the woman looked at her like she had grown a second head and asked if she was some sort of nut... (mind you it wasn't a formal interview just happened to be in a causal setting and given the person her resume after the woman asked for it.) Is my wife a nut or is anyone else getting tired of this junk.

edited: to change head to Heard.... R button has to be pushed down hard and I guess I didn't press it that time.

Employers have always gone as far as they could to try to get the best of the applicants. They didn't necessarily get the best, but someone would yell and find fault if they missed a step.

Now they can get further. And they do. And yes, it sucks.

And healthcare? Unless you have great wealth or exactly the right insurance, we've screwed it up so badly that one wonders if we'll ever get it straight.

Hotmail, Yahoo, and Gmail all make me go through extra security steps just because I don't have a cellphone. What to do if you don't have a cellphone is always in very small print.

Why this universal assumption that people have cellphones? They are a big extra bill every month. They have contracts that jerk you around. You eternally spend money upgrading to the latest device. All this so you can have something buzzing in your ear to constantly disrupt whatever you're doing: a device that's all about listening to inane chatter instead of being able to select and focus on the best interactions. Cellphones suck out your soul!

If I remember correctly, Hotmail once locked me out just for random security purposes, and they didn't offer a clear way to get back in. When I called their tech support, they didn't give me too much of a hard time. I just named some of the folders I had created, which made it obvious that the email address was mine.

Ps. Regarding the medical bill. I was once told by a banker that lenders understand that people are always getting shafted by medical billing mistakes, so they tend to ignore dings on your credit record related to these if you're otherwise clean.
