We know how bad ISIS is, and why. We also know how rotten some Christians are...

Doesn't matter, the common word in these wack job wannabe conquerers, religious fascists, and "holy" warriors, is fundamentalism.

Any place or any religion fundies rear their heads, havoc ensues.

Just look at this fundy's writings...

"The Declaration and the Constitution do not authorize atheism. The USA has no law of any kind that authorizes the practice of atheism. Having doubts about God is thinking not a practice of atheism. All atheistic practices are illegal and must be punished."

-George Shollenberger, author of books "proving God"

The worst part about guys like Shollenberger, is he isn't treated like the nutcase he is.

We have too many in "leadership" like Louie Gohmert, Michelle Bachmann, Rick Perry, etc. who follow what this guy advocates.

Scumbag Christian fundamentalists picket funerals. Isis cuts the heads off of journalists and executes hundreds of people on video.

Not the same thing at all.

It needs to be acceptable to excoriate groups like ISIS without quickly throwing in some reference to the ignorance and bigotry of some Christian groups.

We shouldn't have to prove we're not Islamophobes like many Christian conservatives every time we condemn actions by Islamic extremists.

It's ridiculous.

While they aren't as vicious as ISIS, they do create havoc, killing and maiming anyone they want to.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army_of_God_(United_States)

Every year I read about or see on the news the so-called "Lone Wolves" who murder people who aren't the same religion, aren't the same political party, aren't the same color skin.

And if Rick Perry got what he wants, those who don't believe like he does would be stoned to death.

Really though, putting them up next to the likes of ISIS actually makes these yahoos look almost decent, by the comparison. If you want to take on the whackadoodles and scary fundies here in the US, it might be better to leave ISIS out of the discussion - our nuts can stand on their own just fine.

But to simply acknowledge that we do have vicious terrorists motivated by their faith, here in the US and they are usually not Jew or Muslim, they are Christian.

Remember the "Beltway Shooter?"
The media, (conservative especially,) made sure to mention just about every time when they describe them, the fact they were Muslim.
Even though they were not using their faith as an excuse for the shootings, they were trying to extort money from the DC government.

Yet Dr Tiller's murderer, hardly ever do they even MENTION that this guy is a fundamentalist violent "Christian."

I'd like to know how we practice atheism, in any case.

but are restrained by American laws. Otherwise they'd be doing the same thing they were doing at the turn of the 20th century and beyond.
Perverting a peaceful religion to mask their hatred and inability to live with others in a civil manner is their common trait.
