I enjoyed her in small doses. Most of all, I remember how much my mother loved her. Mom was a dear, sweet, and busy wife and mother and didn't laugh a lot. She loved JR though, and I used to stay up to watch the Tonight Show with Mom when she was guest hosting just to watch her laugh. RIP.

There is an amazing documentary that came out about her a couple of years ago.
Well worth watching.

It was a surprisingly great documentary. This really was the hardest working woman in show business; she did anything to keep working. Filthy, snarky, hysterically funny (sometimes you felt bad for laughing, but couldn't help it: no one, including herself was spared). I hope she'll continue to make 'em gasp and laugh out there in the great beyond.

I knew this was coming-there was a blind item on Blind Gossip that her daughter Melissa was going to take her off Life Support today.

Too mean and classless.

The obituaries coming in for the next few days will be noticeably lacking

the one word that surrounded Robin Williams after his recent death and that

is "beloved".

j/k Don't hate people, I'm sure Joan would approve of the joke (though I admit it wasn't up to her level)

RIP to a true original! Her humor will be sorely missed!
