On the McDonnells' conviction - screw you NYT and WaPo

The NY Times says "...none if the cases unfolded in the national glare like the McDonnell melodrama,..."

The Washington Post says the trial "gripped the nation"

Like hell it did. The media BARELY COVERED IT.

Compare the coverage on this to Illinois Gov. Blagjovech. Not even close. The McDonnell trial wasn't even on the google news main page most days, including the really whacked out full soap opera days. Even today it is 4th in google - 'Hot Car Dad' is at the top for crying out loud.

Give me a stinking break!!
Retro news coverage covering their owns asses.

The only person who gave the McDonnells the coverage they deserved was Rachel Maddow

That said, "gripped the nation" is exaggeration from some journalist camped outside the courtroom for 5 weeks.

Their live blog was a hoot to read on a daily basis but my point still is that this was not covered nearly as much as other Governors, or Gary Condit (never a suspect), etc.
