EU source of crisis in Ukraine, says MEP Marine Le Pen (RW French National Front)

EU bears the brunt of responsibility for the crisis in Ukraine, the leader of the National Front party, MEP Marine Le Pen said Friday in an interview published by the evening edition of Le Monde. After signing an agreement on exclusive partnership with the previous Ukrainian President, the EU started blackmailing Ukraine and telling it, ‘Either we or Russia’, she said.

EU could not but realize that it was adding fuel to the flames. At present, a legitimate Ukrainian government is trying to curb a popular insurrection at the price of bombing civilian population, Le Pen said.

Where are the European capitals and the grand humanists, whose voices were heard in the situations with Syria and Libya, she asked somewhat rhetorically. By withholding any reaction to the extermination of civilians, the EU is pushing Russia towards interference so as to be able to blame it later.

Le Pen said she was treating Vladimir Putin with much respect and was delighted to see a person who was acting in the interests of his country, who was committed to the notion of a nation and a patriotic model of the economy - the one that was so radically different from the models imposed by the U.S. on the whole world.
