Man Pays For Pizza With Meth By Mistake

The man paid for the pizza with a wad of cash.

But as the Pizza Hut delivery woman left the Sunset Hotel at 2328 S. Broadway at about 11:15 p.m. Monday, Lt. Doug Nolte said, she noticed something tucked in with the cash: a baggie containing a suspicious crystalline substance.

The 22-year-old woman called police, who tested the substance and determined it was methamphetamine. She told police where she delivered the pizza.

When officers went to the hotel room, Nolte said, they found cocaine and meth. The 35-year-old man was booked into jail.

“We believe he did not realize he had, in fact, given her some drugs,” Nolte said of the suspect.

Or maybe he's an outlier. No drug affects everybody the same way.

Methamphetamine is a Schedule II controlled substance, manufactured by Abbot Laboratories and sold under the brand name Desoxyn.

Marijuana, on the other hand, is a Schedule I controlled substance, which cannot be prescribed because the federal government refuses to recognize it has any medical uses.

There are calls from the medical marijuana community to reschedule it, but I say we ought to deschedule it. I don't need a doctor's note to smoke weed, thank you.
