..and Houston Bush International Airport. Of course past Presidents have many things on the list.

(14,449 posts)On things for Democratic Presidents. Just never have. Republicans do all the time. Heck carriers are named after Republicans but only Truman and JFK were given the honor. The next carrier is George HW Bush. Where are all the Jimmy Carter named things??????

They treated him like crap the whole time he was/is in office....We'll see.

(12,132 posts)was renamed for Reagan a while back. Goes from north of Ocala down to Miami. It's old and meanders a bit there towards the end.

It would be rather uncomfortable with the populace to have a famous landmark named after someone like that.
(Well..one that was actually brought to justice ..Bush)

(70,205 posts)here in chicago you cant name a school after someone who is alive.
a new school in the hood had a lot of support for naming it after michael jordan, but was prohibited. but it happened that is was about the time that michael's dad was killed, so they named it after him.
maybe they will change the rule now, tho.
