ISIS/ISIL was ignored until they took Iraqi oil fields.

Up until that time, ISIS/ISIL was Assad's and by virtue of being a client state, Putin's problem.

...if it weren't for GWB, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc.

Also have to wonder, if the Iraqi border with Syria was purposely left with troops who weren't ready.

Its always a knee jerk reaction around here.

You have radical crazy Islamic Fundamentalists! Bomb them!!!!111111 Because USA! USA!

Starve them financially? No.

Targeted Assassinations? No.

I could go on...but why bother.

And UAE reportedly flew planes on the mission? The other 48 were sort of missing in action.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates participated in or supported the strikes against Islamic State targets, U.S. Central Command said. The countries are hostile to Assad but now fear the fighters who emerged from the rebellion they backed in Syria's 3-year-old civil war.

It is about the MIC, and keeping them well fed. And keeping us distracted and scared.

As soon as there was serious talk about decreasing the military budget, and clearing out of the Middle East, guess what happened?

And no, I don't think Obama has been driving this.
