Police: Alleged Child Rapist on the Run With Stolen Gun

Southbridge police have issued a second warning to residents about a child rape suspect who absconded after removing a court-ordered GPS device.

Gregory Lewis, 26, of Southbridge, allegedly returned to his home and “seriously assaulted a family member” before stealing a gun, a department bulletin reads.

“The family member was tied up and handcuffed to prevent police from being called,” the alert reads. “Lewis then armed himself with a handgun and left the residence.”

WCVB reports that Lewis was released on $1,000 bail after he was arraigned on two counts each of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and statutory rape of a child.
