(904 posts)Thank-you John Fugelsang for sharing this amazing story. I knew a couple, she was a nun and he was a priest who did the same thing, fell in love, denied it for years and finally left the church to pursue their lives, happily marrying and having 3 children.
Anyone else notice John is the mirror image of his dad!

(26,264 posts)To hear him take on a right wing troll caller is truly delightful. He is absolutely my favorite 'fill in' host, for her show.
That being said, I really do wish he'd get his own gig.

(5,376 posts)I loved his show, called Viewpoint. He was/is amazing. IIRC, he ended each one by saying "Good night, Mom." He's been a guest on many MSNBC shows, where his humor and insight are always a breath of fresh air. I knew his parents were a former monk and nun, but not the full story. What a wonderful tribute to their lifelong love and devotion. And they brought us John.
Couldn't agree more--John should definitely have his own show.

(26,264 posts)They claimed it was just postponed, but since it's 2 years, this month, I think they were just trying to placate ticket holders. I really regret not making it to one of the Chicago shows.

I even had 3rd row seats and VIP tickets so I would have met everyone! Maybe even gotten groped by Mama!

(1,329 posts)Just finished reading it. Really enjoyed John Fugelsang on the late Current TV and wondered about
how his parents got together. Lovely and touching. It is a total travesty that John is not
on TV in some capacity.

I love hearing him masterfully and diplomatically take apart RWNJ callers to Stephanie's show who try to use the bible to justify their BS. He dismantles their arguments every single time. A thing of beauty.
