an oil well will produce a low octane gasoline because the long drilling tube that ends in the oil deposit cavern underground will distill the fumes from the oil and when it reaches the coolness of the surface will condenxe into a low octane gasoline.

It was sometimes harvested by country boys and men during the oil shortage and used in vehicles.

I still don't understand how you get refined products to market from a mobile unit.

And the story is those products are netting IS millions of dollars per day from such things

That's either a lot of tanker trucks or a link to pipelines. How does such a fleet of trucks operate in a civil war and get products to international markets? How does a pipeline work in a civil war?

Seems like IS/ISIL has business partners

His father worked on wells and seemed to have an infinite supply. I used it as fuel for my camp stove. I never tried it in my car for fear of damaging the engine. A lot of condensate has sulfur compounds that will corrode the engine over time, so if they don't have some way of removing it, it will cause problems.
