Education Reform

I wish my son could have signed up for a science oriented education when he was in Kindergarten. My daughter may have done the same in Kindergarten but within a few years, she probably would've switched to engineering. She loves to make things. My sister has been involved in the arts since she was born.

School should offer a general education but, more importantly, a path to career. A path to a life that is envisioned, defined and achieved by the student.

Why don’t schools help kids follow their dreams?

Standardized is a bad word. Molding students to our expectations is wrong. The average kid excels while the exceptional kid falls outside the model and may fail.

Judge the exceptional kid by a jury of peers and they will all recognize value unseen by the average educator.

An enthusiastic C student will outperform a bored and disgruntled A student through sheer enthusiasm and commitment.

Build individuals instead of molding model citizens.

Support the spirit of the student.
