Democrats should favor letting the world run itself, from below.

The concept of "world leadership", is just imperialism, and is inherently reactionary, antiworker, antiwoman, antichild and antipoor.

"World leadership" is based on reshaping the world in the image of the "leader" by use of coercion("free trade deals&quot and force. It it is impossible to lead the world, from above, on behalf of the powerless, or with any concern for the dispossessed and hopeless.

"World leadership" is simply a euphemism for preserving the privileges of the few...forever.

Democrats-if we are ever again to be "the party of the people"-need to be "the party of the WORLD's people"...and the only way to do that is to get out of the way and let the world's poor, as they will always struggle heroically to do, emancipate themselves and create for themselves TRUE democracy...which means democracy not only at the ballot box, but in the workplace, among the classes, and among the genders.

If we continue to refuse to do that, we will end up doing nothing but what we have always done...beating the world back with a stick, as if the majority of the human race are nothing but beasts to be subdued.

Learn. Change. And get out of the way.
