I really wish the Senate and the President would understand that. The Sequestration could only happen if the Senate and the President agreed with it. There is no mechanism allowing the House to have anything be the final decision. Oh they can yell and screen and shut down the government with assistance from the Senate, but they can't force the Senate or the President to do anything.

some people think everything is a conspiracy. If anything this incident reinforces the official narrative on 9/11 and Katrina. Certain parts of the Federal government are extremely incompetent and it doesn't matter if Democrats or Republicans control the government, the incompetence remains.

If the distinction between negligence and incompetence is that the former occurs when someone with the ability to do their job fails to do it while the latter occurs when someone lacks the capacity to do their job, then the failures on the part of the Secret Service, who clearly have the capacity to do their jobs, represent negligence.

Either way, there needs to be a housecleaning to weed out those in the Secret Service who are unable or otherwise fail to perform to the expected standard.
