I'd suspect that pretty much anyone who's lived on the West Coast for any significant amount of time knows about fall weather patterns, right?

So no, it's probably not global warming.

I am still upset by the performance (or lack thereof) of the Pirates last night.

It was in the high 80's in SF. This time of year is always the best weather in San Francisco.Whenever someone asks me the best weather months For SF to visit September and October is the best time to visit, The tourist season is quiter, you go walk up and buy a ticket to Alcatraz also.

I like the cool, gray summers, with fog so think it almost drips.

September and October are the hottest months here. The only thing good about that is that my tomatoes finally ripen.

And I love going to the beach during this time. Which I'll probably go to tomorrow and enjoy the ocean instead of freezing my ass off.

27 years ago this Saturday the temp was 103• here. And there was a little earthquake a day or so earlier. Made for a memorable day, it did.

Meantime, I'm drinking like a gallon of ice water today.

SF had the hot spike only because of the offshore flow, something that is not unusual this time of the year. Heck the last 48 hours were identical to the conditions that fueled the October Oakland hills firestorm in 1991, so stay safe.
